This week has been a bit whirlwind! We landed back in San Francisco last Sunday (from San Diego) and the following morning I flew out to Denver, Colorado for work. I just arrived back home last night, so I was away from home during the week. I also managed to catch a cold somewhere in Denver, which has put the training in the back burner. On the bright side, I was able to run once in Denver (on a treadmill) this week, where the altitude is a mile-high. Let’s just say the altitude forced me to slow the usual pace! Anyways, here is this week’s log:
Monday: 6 miles track – 2x400m, 800m, 1200m
Tuesday: *20-minutes crosstrain + strength
Wednesday: *7 miles moderate (treadmill)
Saturday: 3 miles
Sunday: **8 miles

*While in Denver, I stayed at a hotel that had a good fitness center. I was able to use the elliptical & stationary bikes that first morning, and the treadmill on the 2nd day. Being in altitude, the air sucked all the endurance out of me. During the treadmill run, the pace was set to 8:57 min/mile!
**Long Run: I woke up today (Sunday) still feeling achy and congested from the cold. I was hoping to get at least a double-digit mileage for the long run, but all I could muster was 8-miles on the road.
Mood: Recovering! The cold kicked in at its worst on yesterday and now in recovery mode…feeling tired & groggy. Hopefully, the cold will subside soon and I can get back to regular training. Next week is a New week!
