Have you ever heard of Randy Pausch? Randy was a professor at Carnegie Mellon University and well-known for his Last Lecture. Professor Randy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2006 and passed away two years later. Before his time was up, Randy’s last lecture inspired not just his colleagues but also the world. If you have time, I highly recommend watching the Last Lecture, as Professor Randy speaks to the real importance in life.
As for this week’s inspiring video, the professor speaks during a graduation ceremony to a new class of college graduates. After finishing college, recent graduates often have the idea of finding jobs and making money as soon as possible. In the professor’s speech, he speaks of finding your passion…and he reasons that passion is not found in material belongings or money, but rather building relationships with other people.
It is true, money will not buy true happiness. True happiness is found in things that do not have a price.
